EA Sports have confirmed that the highly-demanded crossplay feature will be coming to FIFA 23, but it won't be available in Pro Clubs.
FIFA players have long wanted crossplay to be introduced to FIFA by EA, with many other huge games having had it for years already. Crossplay allows players on different brands of consoles to play against each other in online game modes. As confirmed in the FIFA 23 reveal trailer, which was unveiled at 17:00 PM BST on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, EA will be adding crossplay to FIFA 23 in all 1v1 game modes from launch, meaning it won't feature in Pro Clubs.

FIFA 23 will feature crossplay functionality allowing players with the same generation of console to play against each other in 1v1 game modes. Players on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, PC and Stadia are able to match up against each other as those platforms will run the current gen version of FIFA 23.
Players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will still be able to play against each other, but they won't be able to match up against players on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, PC and Stadia, as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of FIFA 23 are previous gen versions.
Pro Clubs is an online social mode in FIFA that allows you to create a Virtual Pro player to play on the pitch with friends. Your Virtual Pro will play one position on the pitch, with 2-11 players able to play at once in one team.
The aim of Pro Clubs is to develop your Virtual Pro to the best possible rating whilst your team strives to climb from Division 10 to Division One. The addition of crossplay would've allowed more people to play with more friends and potentially make it an overall better playing experience. Although Pro Clubs won't have crossplay in FIFA 23 at launch, there is every possibility that it could be added further on down the line.
As well as crossplay being confirmed in the FIFA 23 reveal trailer, EA confirmed that HyperMotion 2 will be used, whilst both the Men's and Women's World Cups will be included in the game. The trailer also confirmed the release date, with FIFA 23 officially being released on Friday, September 30, 2022. If you pre-order the Ultimate Edition, you can start playing from Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
