A new FUT TOTS promo squad is set to enter FIFA 23 Ultimate Team this week, which could leave players waiting for the Ultimate TOTS squad launch.
With the Team of the Season (TOTS) promo close to reaching its conclusion, FUT fans are used to an Ultimate TOTS squad being released, the pinnacle squad of the promo. The Ultimate TOTS contains a selection of the best TOTS players released from any of the squads, but leaks suggest EA may be going down a different route in FIFA 23.
According to leaks, a new promo squad called TOTS Award Winners will be dropping in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team on Friday, June 9 at 6pm BST/ 1pm EDT/ 10am PDT. Here's everything we know about the Award Winners promo squad and why its introduction could be the end for the Ultimate TOTS squad.
FIFA 23 TOTS Award Winners – the end of the Ultimate TOTS?
According to reliable leaker @FutSheriff, Award Winners will be coming to FUT this Friday, June 9, with a squad set to be released in FUT Packs at 6pm BST/ 1pm EDT/ 10am PDT. And according to fellow reliable leaker @FIFAUTeam, the TOTS Award Winners squad consists of award winners from each of the top five leagues.
The leaks suggest that the Golden Boot, Golden Glove and POTY winner from each of the top five leagues will be awarded with boosted FUT TOTS items, but with a brand-new card design. If true, these are the players that could be given Award Winners TOTS items:
Premier League FIFA 23 TOTS Award Winners
- David De Gea (Manchester United) - Golden Glove
- Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - Golden Boot, POTY
La Liga (POTY TBA) FIFA 23 TOTS Award Winners
- Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Barcelona) - Golden Glove
- Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) - Golden Boot
Bundesliga FIFA 23 TOTS Award Winners
- Mark Flekken (Freiburg) - Golden Glove
- Christopher Nkunku & Niclas Fullkrug (RB Leipzig & Werder Bremen) - Golden Boot
- Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund) - POTY
Ligue 1 FIFA 23 TOTS Award Winners
- Brice Samba (Lens) - Golden Glove
- Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) - Golden Boot, POTY
Serie A FIFA 23 TOTS Award Winners
Ivan Provedel (Lazio) - Golden Glove
Victor Osimhen (Napoli) - Golden Boot
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli) - POTY
With most the award winners from the top five leagues having received a TOTS item, it doesn't make sense for EA to also release an Ultimate TOTS squad and have both variations of these players in FUT Packs. But, with the TOTS Award Winners being released, it doesn't mean that there won't be an Ultimate TOTS squad released.
EA could opt to omit the likes of Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and more from the Ultimate TOTS squad, meaning we could have both in Packs at the same time. This a potentially good idea, but this means if you were to play FUT Champions, some of the biggest names may not be included in the rewards as they won't be part of the Ultimate TOTS squad.
Nothing is confirmed yet, so we will have to wait and see what EA does. Leaks have also announced that the Shapeshifters promo will be the next promo to enter FUT following the conclusion of the TOTS event.
