FIFA 22 Global Series - TOTS Cup preview with $500k prize pool

The FIFA 22 Global Series TOTS Cup kicks-off this weekend, giving 32 teams the chance to play for a share of $500k.

One of the most anticipated FIFA 22 tournaments of the year in the FIFA community, the Team of the Season (TOTS) cup is made up of 32 teams - 16 regional champions and 16 FIFA Global Series Masters. The tournament is set to start on Friday, April 29, 2022, lasting over a three day period until Sunday, May 1, 2022.

The tournament will feature some of the most popular eSports teams such as Fnatic, Excel Sports and FUTWIZ, with popular eSports players such as Tekkz, Gorilla and Tom Leese representing their respective teams. The winner of the tournament will claim $100k of the $500k prize pool, with viewers also rewarded with free items in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

Team of the Season Cup groups and format

The tournament is made up of 32 teams - the 16 regional champions from the FGS Open, along with 16 FGS Masters. The 32 teams are split into eight groups of four teams, and after the first game, teams will move into a winners qualifier or drop to a lower bracket, where they'll play again to move to the next phase.

The top two teams will then both compete for the $100k prize, but will also both qualify for the FIFAe Club World Cup. Here are the eight groups below.

Where to watch and Viewership rewards

There are two ways to watch the Team of the Season Cup, with EA Sports streaming the London-based tournament from their official Twitch and YouTube channels. The first game of the tournament begins at 14:00 BST on Friday, April 29, 2022, with the final game on each day taking place at 21:00 BST.

The Grand Final will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 21:00 BST. Viewers that have their EA account linked to either their YouTube or Twitch accounts can get free FUT rewards just for watching, featuring limited edition Tifo's, Badges and Kits.

As Previously mentioned, the Prize pool for the tournament is $500k, with the winner taking home a whopping $100k of it. Here's how much each team will earn based on their final position.

  • 3nd place: $50k
  • 4th place: $40k
  • 5th-6th place: $25k
  • 7th-8th place: $20k
  • 9th-12th place: $15k
