NAGPUR: Finally, Indian cagers can heave a sigh of relief as FIBA gave recognition to the newly elected body of Basketball Federation of India on Monday. Two months ago, the world governing body of basketball (FIBA) had barred participation of Indian teams, citing 'third-party interference' after turmoil in the BFI before elections led to a legal battle and appointment of an administrator.
With recognition from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the Indian women's 5x5 team and the 3x3 squads of U-23 men and women will participate in the forthcoming Asian Games.
