Ferrari's Carlos Sainz emerged as the fastest driver in a wet and red-flagged free practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. However, Red Bull's championship leader Max Verstappen did not set a timed lap during the session.
McLaren's Australian rookie, Oscar Piastri, and his teammate Lando Norris secured the second and third positions, trailing Sainz's fastest time by 0.585 and 1.277 seconds, respectively. Sainz clocked his best effort of two minutes and 03.207 seconds on intermediate tires.
