Fern Britton penned a cryptic Tweet on Monday referring to her 'survival' in the wake of her ex-husband Phil Vickery being snapped kissing her best friend, Lorraine Stanton.
The presenter, 65, who was married to former This Morning colleague Phil, 61, for 20 years, was seen in public for the first time last week since the pictures emerged looking downcast.
And now, Fern has sent tongues wagging after writing a Tweet about how she hasn't been "broken" when her life "hasn't been perfect" - with some fans thinking it is pensive musings about Phil's new romance.
The star, who previously said she wished she'd persevered with her marriage, wrote: "My life has been pretty good. Not always perfect or pleasing or easy but I wouldn’t change those things.
"They didn’t break me or wash me away as I expected. I survived. Today, Sitting with the cat in the oct sun, I am content. It may not last long so I’ll drink it in while I can."
Fans were quick to show their support to the mother-of-four, with one user commenting: "You are an inspirational lady Fern. Everyone has a cross to bear. Some drag it whist others hold high like a feather. You are very much the latter. With strength to help others too. Xxx."
Another declared: "No matter what life throws at you in the future Fern, always remember that that in numerous ways you have brought pleasure and sunshine to the lives of countless others."
A third added: "Life is what you make it Fern, you’ve survived through the good times and the bad and it didn’t break you. May your contentment last a lifetime for you to drink it in x."
And a fourth said: "I don’t know you personally (other than media/public persona) but do hope you are ok. You are a wonderful person."
The photos, pictured a fortnight ago, show Phil and Lorraine showed the pair holding suitcases and a Fortnum and Mason bag, before they shared a lingering public kiss.
They then took a romantic stroll before heading into a luxurious Mayfair property near Berkeley Square.
While Phil is yet to speak out about his new romance, Fern's pal Lorraine broke her silence to explain how her family were going through a 'tough time'.
Lorraine said: "It's a difficult time for me and the family. I don't actually live in the marital home anymore and it's got nothing to do with the latest incident over the pictures.
"We are going through a grieving period as a family, and I've also just lost my step father. My children are feeling very vulnerable, and they are very upset about the whole situation," she added to Mail Online.
Meanwhile, Lorraine's husband spoke out – claiming he does not know when he will have a chance to speak to his estranged wife about the recent snaps.
Fern and Phil announced their decision to part ways in 2020, weeks after Fern headed on a girls trip with pal Lorraine, in a joint statement.
It read: "After more than 20 happy years together, [we] have decided to go our separate ways. We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children.
"We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thank you for your continued kindness and support."
Fern and Lorraine's friendship, meanwhile, came to an abrupt end in 2020 when they both unfriended each other on social media.
At the same time, Fern also suggested it was "easier to forgive your enemies than your friends" in a Twitter post.
This was eight months after she and Phil announced their split.
