Sarah Ferguson has admitted she gets in trouble with her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice as she gave a rare insight into being a 'granny' – as she is affectionately known by her grandchildren.
The Duchess of York, 63, who is also a children's author, revealed her two grandchildren "brings out her inner child" as she gushed over the role.
Sarah's daughter Princess Beatrice is a mum to daughter Sienna, one, and stepmum to Wolfie, while her other daughter Princess Eugenie is mum to August, two, and is currently expecting her second child with husband Jack Brooksbank.
Speaking in an interview with OK! magazine, the duchess gushed: "I love being a grandmother.
"It’s a whole new phase of life and I am modelling myself on Super Gran. I love being with them and how it brings out my inner child. My grandchildren seem to find me very funny. I love indulging them, too."
However, she admitted: "I get in trouble for giving them sweets."
In January this year it was announced that Princess Eugenie is pregnant with her second child.
Eugenie, 33, announced the news via Buckingham Palace as they shared a statement which read: "Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer.
"The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother."
In her interview, Fergie recalled the moment Eugenie told her the news she was expanding her brood.
"While her telling me was a private moment, I will say that there is nothing more exciting and beautiful than seeing the smile on your child’s face when they have news like that to deliver," she said.
"The whole family is thrilled that she is expecting another child."
One member of the family who will not be around to meet the tot is the late Queen Elizabeth, who died age 96 in September.
The monarch's death left Sarah, who looks after the Queen's surviving corgis Sandy and Muick, "heartbroken".
Paying tribute to the Queen, Sarah said: "Her Majesty was an incredible head of state, an incredible mother-in-law and an incredible friend.
"For me to be able to call her that was the greatest honour in my life. I used to have to pinch myself when I was sitting with her and asking her advice. Her door always remained open to me and we saw a lot of each other right up to the end, for which I will always be grateful. I miss her more than words can express."
However, Fergie said we are "fortunate" to have King Charles III takeover the Queen on the throne.
She said: " have known both the King and the Queen Consort since I was a child.
"I think if you look at the King’s track record in areas like the environment, where he was decades ahead of his time, and the Prince’s Trust, it’s clear what an extraordinary man he is and how fortunate we are to have him on the throne. I also admire the way the Queen Consort has worked tirelessly in areas like literacy and domestic violence."
