Prohibition-style nights of wining and dining and smokin' hot music will celebrate the opening of a new restaurant and club inside Fenwick as part of the Newcastle's flagship department store's big anniversary year.
Arthur’s Restaurant & Music Club will welcome its first guests in May and tickets are on sale now for two evening events which will capture a Prohibition-style atmosphere with drinks, a three-course dinner with wine plus entertainment from Michael Lamb's Strictly Smokin' Tiny Big Band. Following the launch, the club will then follow up with a series of themed nights - a mix of music, dining and "immersive experiences" - to run over one weekend each month and it also will be hosting afternoon tea on selected dates throughout the year.
The new venue occupies the first-floor space of former restaurant Tivoli , and its opening follows that of the adjacent new-look Café 140 and exhibition space which opened on the first floor in March as part of the Fenwick 140 programme marking the store's 140-year anniversary with a circus-theme extravaganza. And the flamboyant and fun vibe now continues with Arthur's which also is inviting customers to experience the store in a new way and opens up the 1882 building to new possibilities.
