Irish YouTube star JustaMinx feared she would pass out after a gruelling weight cut ahead of her boxing debut last weekend.
The social media sensation, known as one of the top streamers on Twitch, defeated Tik Tok star YodelingHaley at the Creator Clash in Florida on Saturday night. But prior to the bout she had to cut a significant amount of weight to make it within 10lb of her fight with the 19-year-old.
'Minx' ultimately tipped the scales at 155.4lb, just within the limit set when Haley weighed in at 147.6lb. The duo had agreed to weigh in between 150 and 160lb, but as is standard with boxers training for the first time, Haley lost more weight than expected and forced Minx to get down further than she had planned.
And in a video blog from the show, Minx showed off her week of gruelling weight cuts, which included working out in a sweatsuit and hitting the sauna, just as professional fighters are known to. "I'm a bit stressed right now because I just met Anisa [Jomha, one of the event's organisers] and she said Haley is weighing in around 148," Minx told fans in the footage. "Our weight match was supposed to be 150-160 so I don't know what happens if we're more than ten apart. Fingers crossed."
She then showed herself heading to the sauna in a sweatsuit, where she described the experience of cutting weight as "horrific". She detailed feeling light-headed, hungry and dehydrated, before showing footage from just after her sauna session, saying she quit early due to fears she would pass out.
In the video, she can be seen looking to a bottle of water, describing it as 'so tempting' and indicating that she 'wants to cry' over being unable to rehydrate in her efforts to make the weight. Eventually, both women made weight and the fight happened as scheduled, with Minx stopping her opponent in the fourth after an intensive back-and-forth contest.

After the bout, Minx shared a teary video of her celebrating in her hotel room. She claims that the crying was due to adrenaline from the event, and not due to any pain from the weeks' events.
Speaking to Mirror Fighting following her victory, Minx was keen to heap praise on her opponent for an onslaught throughout the fight. "She knocked out my contacts," the Irish woman said. "So I couldn't see and when I was coming out I was panicking like 'oh no, a concussion!'
"I feel alive, adrenaline and it was so much scarier than sparring which I wasn't expecting. She [Haley] is amazing, she's 19. She's so much younger than me and she lasted that long, she's insane. I thought I had her in round two, I started smiling but she kept on going. If she keeps up boxing, I'm done. If someone invites me to another undercard, I will absolutely fight again."
