Following the recent shooting incident at a campaign rally involving former President Trump, federal agents visited the Pennsylvania home of the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks. The investigators, dressed in plainclothes, arrived at the modest Milford Drive house in Bethel Park suburb on Sunday afternoon.
Upon their arrival, the agents were greeted by a man at the door who allowed them inside. They spent approximately 85 minutes inside the residence before departing in a black SUV. Later that day, another pair of men in black suits attempted to make contact with a neighbor but received no response.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter, was stopped by a counter sniper during the assassination attempt, which resulted in the death of firefighter Corey Comperatore and injuries to two others. Crooks' father has been staying at the family home since the incident, while his sister, Katie Crooks, has been seen bringing food to the house.
It was disclosed that Crooks had used a drone to survey the rally site before the shooting, and the FBI has recovered the device. Despite examining Crooks' phone, which contained images of President Biden and Trump, as well as searches related to political events and mental health, investigators have not determined a clear motive for the attack.
The shooter's parents, both licensed professional counselors, have not been directly implicated in the incident. The FBI continues to lead the investigation into the shooting, focusing on uncovering any potential reasons behind Crooks' actions.
