European shares edged higher on Wednesday as lower oil prices and stabilising government bond yields offered investors some relief ahead of an expected US interest-rate increase.
The benchmark Euro STOXX 50 was up 0.5% at around midday, while Germany’s DAX, France’s CAC 40 and Britain’s FTSE 100 also recorded modest gains.
