Publicans are warning of more price rises if the Government presses ahead with a scheduled VAT hike for the hospitality sector.
Pubs, restaurants and hotels currently enjoy a special 9% VAT rate, as opposed to the regular 13.5% rate for other sectors.
However, the Government is losing billions in lost tax receipts because of this and it is scheduled to end on February 29th next.
