Fears over Edinburgh schoolgirl's welfare as police launch massive search

Fears over the welfare of a schoolgirl missing from the centre of Edinburgh are growing after an appeal was launched to trace her whereabouts.

Carly Rose Campbell was last seen in the Newington area of the capital in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, April 12.

The 13-year-old, whose surname has not been released, has so far failed to contact friends or family since 12:30am and concerns over her wellbeing have now been raised.

Carly is described as being white, around 5’5 in height with a medium build and dyed, dark shoulder length hair.

She was understood to be wearing a black Canada Goose Jacket with a fur hood, ripped blue denim jeans and black vans baseball boots at the time of her disappearance and was thought to be carrying a black handbag.

Anyone who may have seen Carly since this time, or who has any information on her whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0648 of 12th April 2022.
