UPDATE: Police confirmed they had stood down the search for Ronnie on November 11 2022
Fears are growing for the safety of an elderly man after he went missing yesterday morning (November 6) and has still not returned home - despite bitterly cold temperatures overnight.
Ronnie Brown, 81, left his home in Bracken Avenue, Wallsend, yesterday at around 7am - returning to the area around two hours later but it is not clear whether he entered his home.
He has not been seen by his family since disappearing, with police now increasingly concerned for his welfare and launching an appeal to track him down.
“Anyone who drove through the Bracken Avenue and neighbouring areas yesterday between 7.15am and 10am, is asked to kindly check dashcam footage to see if they captured anyone fitting the below description,” a spokesman for Northumbria Police said.
Ronnie is described as a white male, 5’2 and of a medium build. He is believed to be wearing a dark jacket, burgundy jumper and Sketchers trainers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the force via its website or by calling 101 quoting log NP-20220611-0821.
