Fears as Edinburgh sisters go missing in capital with whereabouts 'unknown'

A pair of teenage sisters residing in Edinburgh have gone missing, as local police officers launch an appeal for their whereabouts.

Aise and Lilica Arnautu, 12 and 17, live in Edinburgh with their family, and are believed to be in each other's company. The pair were last seen in the Bingham area of Edinburgh on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Their whereabouts are currently unknown and the teenagers' family are growing increasingly concerned for their welfare.

Aise and Lilica are Romanian and are not fluent in English, but are known to frequent the city centre of the capital.

Aise is believed to be wearing a dark hooded top, blue jeans, black trainers and a light-coloured backpack.

Lilica is believed to be wearing a black and yellow puffa-style jacket, a red and white patterned skirt or dress and white trainers.

Police have launched an appeal for their whereabouts, and have urged the public to contact them if they have any information on the sisters.

Writing on social media, Police Scotland Edinburgh said: "Aise and Lilica are sisters residing in Edinburgh. They are believed to be in each others company and were last seen in the Bingham area of Edinburgh on Tuesday 06th June 2023 (pictured).

"Their whereabouts are unknown and their family are growing concerned. The sisters are Romanian and not fluent in English however are known to frequent the City Centre.

"Aise is believed to be wearing a dark hooded top, blue jeans, black trainers and a light-coloured backpack.

"Lilica is believed to be wearing a black and yellow puffa-style jacket, a red and white patterned skirt or dress and white trainers.

Anyone with information about there whereabouts of Aise and Lilicia can contact 101, quoting incident number 4519 of 06/06/2023."
