Fearne Cotton has said the pandemic killed her sex life with her husband Jesse Wood, with the pair having now said they were breaking up.
The 43-year-old presenter said “with a heavy heart” on Friday that the pair were set to break up after a 10 year marriage.
Posting a statement on Instagram Stories, she penned: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.
“Our priority has been and always will be our children.
“We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
The Sun has unearthed comments back to 2021 which showed the strain the couple were under in finding quality time during the pandemic.
She told Alan Carr at the time: "We have had no time alone because of the ridiculous pandemic but before all this craziness, Paris was our go-to.
"Not every weekend, maybe once a year. But it felt well special because it's so chic and beautiful."
Wood has played guitar with 90s rock band Reef and their touring during a 2010s revival had made family life tricky, Cotton admitted in 2019.
Speaking on Carr’s Life’s a Beach podcast, BBC Radio presenter Cotton said that the restrictions of the day had limited their bedroom activities.
She added: "Sexy time hasn't happened for so long in terms of me going anywhere.
"I think for me and my husband, booking into the local Travelodge would make us feel sexy at the moment."
The couple are parents to son Rex, 11, and eight-year-old daughter Honey, while Cotton is also step-mum to Wood’s children Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, who were born from his first marriage.
Cotton and 48-year-old musician Wood - who is the son of Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood - first met in 2011 after meeting while partying in Ibiza, the year that the guitarist split from his first wife Tilly Wood following eight years of marriage.
They then tied the knot in 2014 in a star-studded ceremony in London.
