Federal regulators have added three more products to a safety alert warning that botanical weight-loss supplements sold to American consumers have been found to contain yellow oleander, a poisonous plant whose compounds act directly on the heart.
The FDA updated the safety alert on August 12, 2026. The agency said it tested the products and found they contain toxic yellow oleander, which can cause neurologic, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular adverse health effects that may be severe or even fatal.
