FC Twente 'working' to get Sam Lammers transfer over the line

Arnold Bruggink, the sporting director of FC Twente, has announced that the club is making significant progress in their efforts to sign Sam Lammers.

The out-of-favour Rangers forward played the second half of last season on loan at Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie, with hopes of a permanent transfer this summer.

However, financial limitations hindered Utrecht's pursuit, allowing Twente to step in and facilitate a deal.

Recent reports have suggested that a transfer fee of approximately 5 million euros is being considered for Lammers, who netted 11 goals during his recent spell in the Netherlands.

Bruggink has now confirmed that FC Twente is eager to move forward with the negotiations.

Addressing the speculation, he said: "I'm not going to deny that we are working on him, but we're not there yet."

Lammers, who netted just two in 31 outings for Rangers before his January exit to his homeland, became the first player to score in seven consecutive Eredivisie matches at the end of April.
