FC Barcelona Pursuing Return Of Club Legend Pep Guardiola

FC Barcelona (01)

FC Barcelona is reportedly considering the return of former club legend Pep Guardiola, as per sources cited by El Nacional. Guardiola, currently managing Manchester City, has been linked with a potential move back to his former club. However, reports suggest that Guardiola has expressed his commitment to City amidst speculation of a Premier League ban due to Financial Fair Play breaches.

In response to the ongoing situation, Guardiola emphasized City's innocence and urged patience until a verdict is reached. Despite hints of a possible return to Barcelona, the club's president, Joan Laporta, is said to view Guardiola in a different role within the organization rather than as head coach.

Guardiola, known for his successful tenure at Barcelona where he played and later coached the renowned 'Tiki-taka' style, has a contract with Manchester City until 2025. Despite his achievements with City, including a treble-winning season, Guardiola has also expressed interest in exploring international coaching opportunities.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is facing a managerial vacancy following Xavi Hernandez's announcement of his resignation. Laporta has reportedly attempted to persuade Hernandez to reconsider his decision and continue beyond his planned departure date of June 30.

As the situation unfolds, Guardiola's future remains uncertain, with Barcelona contemplating a potential return for the revered manager. Guardiola, however, remains focused on his current responsibilities at Manchester City, affirming his dedication and energy to continue working in the Premier League.
