Following the tragic shooting incident at Apalachee High School, former FBI agent Rob D'Amico has highlighted the need for a review of the FBI's handling of past interactions with the suspected gunman, Colt Gray. The FBI recently confirmed that Gray had been under their watch as a potential threat since last year.

In a joint statement issued by the FBI's Atlanta field office and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, it was revealed that an anonymous tip was received by the agency's National Threat Operations Center in May 2023 regarding online threats related to a potential school shooting.
