The FBI just raided the office of Virginia’s top Democrat, Senate President Pro Tempore L. Louise Lucas, as part of a federal corruption investigation. Agents executed a search warrant at Lucas’s office in Portsmouth early on May 6, 2026, with multiple FBI vehicles spotted outside. Law enforcement was also present at a nearby cannabis store co-owned by Lucas.
According to The Hill, a spokesperson for the FBI’s Norfolk field office confirmed the raid was part of a “court-authorized federal search warrant” but declined to provide further details. The agency assured the public there was no threat to safety, calling it an ongoing investigation. Lucas’s daughter, Lisa, was at the office during the raid and told local reporters she didn’t know why the FBI was there, only that it wasn’t related to healthcare.
