The FBI is currently investigating reports of several mysterious nighttime drone flights that have been occurring across central New Jersey. Witnesses have reported seeing a cluster of drones, larger than those typically used by hobbyists, as well as a possible fixed-wing aircraft flying in various areas along the Raritan River since November 18. While the reason for these flights and the identity of the operators remain unknown, federal and state officials have emphasized that there is currently no known threat to public safety.
These drone flights have sparked concerns, particularly due to their proximity to the Picatinny Arsenal, a U.S. military research and manufacturing facility, as well as over President-elect Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster. The FBI has reached out to the public for assistance, urging residents to share any videos or photos they may have of the flights, along with any other relevant information that could aid in the investigation.
