FBI Director Kash Patel is planning a rare trip to Russia later this year, according to a report from Politico, a visit that would place the head of the nation's top domestic law enforcement agency in one of the United States' principal geopolitical rivals at a time of deep strains over the war in Ukraine.
Citing a U.S. official and a person familiar with the plans, Politico reported that Patel is expected to travel to Russia in mid-October, although the timing has not been finalized and could still change.
