Amid speculation about a potential shutdown, popular esports and content organization FaZe Clan is once again under fire after six of its signed streamers posted vague departure messages on social media.
If this set of odd moves, combined with past situations, has left you wondering whether FaZe Clan is shutting down or why those creators left the org, you’ve come to the right place.

Streamers leaving FaZe Clan, explained
On Dec. 25, six FaZe Clan members—Adapt, JasonTheWeen, Lacy, Silky, StableRonaldo, and QTCinderella—posted a vague “left@FaZeClan” message on X, leaving fans confused.
In the absence of an explanation, the community filled in the blanks, which ultimately led to the company’s most recent shake-up: former CEO Banks’ resignation. One specific rumor suggests that Banks sold a large ownership stake in FaZe, after which new leadership pushed for a 20 percent cut to creators’ paychecks, ultimately leading some of the organization’s biggest names to exit.
But is this what really happened?
Banks’ first statement on the FaZe Clan vs. streamers controversy
Banks took to X to confirm that he didn’t cause the situation.
“I have nothing to do with what’s going on at FaZe Clan right now. I left four months ago and have moved on with my life. Unfortunate to see, wishing everyone involved the best,” his post reads.
However, this wasn’t enough to convince fans.
Plaqueboymax speaks up about FaZe Clan exit
To stir things up further, former FaZe Clan member Plaqueboymax—who left the organization back in August 2025—played a laugh track while reading Banks’ post on stream.
During the same stream, Max revealed that he wasn’t legally allowed to speak about his departure or what’s currently happening within the organization. He also claimed that streamers had “no control” and were treated “like puppets.”
Banks’ second statement on the FaZe Clan vs. streamers controversy
This time, Banks posted a video on X, strongly addressing the drama. He spoke about his departure from FaZe, how personally he took leadership’s push for him to step down, and how he spent his time at the organization prioritizing its growth over his own needs.
Addressing the creators he hired in recent years and their willingness to blame him for the situation, Banks said his “sole goal” was to bring FaZe back to the top, while “these guys” had everything they needed to grow independently.
“These guys would’ve never lived in a house together if it wasn’t for me. These guys are all at minimum 10 times the size in terms of audience and platform now than before they joined FaZe. These guys have all made millions and millions and millions of dollars,” he said.
Banks also revealed that every creator he hired, including Plaqueboymax, Adapt, Lacy, Silky, Jason, and StableRonaldo, to kick off the “new FaZe era” said joining the organization was the best decision of their lives. However, he admitted that pouring his ambition into the project was the worst decision of his own.
“I gave up my entire adult life to this. I have put myself millions and millions and millions of dollars in debt. I have never made one singular dollar outside of my salary,” Banks shared. “I’ve just put myself further and further into debt.”
Responding to Plaqueboymax’s comments, Banks added:
“I just watched some clips from Plaqueboymax’s stream where he’s playing a laugh track over my tweet, and it’s like, Max, I know we’ve had our individual differences, and I know I haven’t seen eye-to-eye with a lot of the talent, because truthfully, I find you guys to be incredibly ungrateful… You guys are the best actors on planet Earth, and you’ve made a complete career out of it.”
Banks has also promised to speak about the situation live on Dec. 26 via Twitch.
Is FaZe Clan shutting down?
As of now, there’s no indication that FaZe Clan is shutting down operations—but restructuring or rebuilding appears likely. With multiple creators leaving at once and speculation surrounding the end of FaZe’s content era, uncertainty is inevitable.
With rumors of the FaZe house being listed for rent and current CEO Matt Kalish potentially considering a transition toward a creative agency following Hardscope’s new media platform launch, fans will have plenty to speculate on until official confirmation arrives.
