Father runs London Marathon with 20kg weight to reflect ‘burden of grief’ after losing son to cancer

A father who ran the London Marathon in memory of his six-year-old son Hugh, who died of a rare form of cancer in 2021, has raised over £50,000 for charity.

Ceri Menai-Davis, 42, completed the 26.2-mile course with 20kg strapped to his back — symbolising his son's weight at the time of his death — along with the names of 200 children currently battling cancer.
