A heartbroken father in New York discovered the tragic loss of his two teenage daughters in a devastating car crash. Brian Trumble expressed his disbelief, stating that the situation felt 'unreal' and that nothing seemed right anymore.
The sisters, Hailey Trumble, 19, and Shelby Trumble, 17, were driving a Chevy Cobalt in Cayuga County on August 1 when they crossed into the opposing lane and collided with another vehicle after coming over a hill.
Concerned when his daughters did not respond to messages after a trip to a Rochester amusement park, Brian used a tracking app to locate them on Ferris Road in Cato. The heartbreaking moment unfolded as he realized their location and sent a message to Shelby, receiving no response.
Upon arriving at Ferris Road, Brian was met with the devastating news from police that two girls had been in an accident, with one fatality. The family later learned that both Shelby and Hailey had tragically passed away.
The father shared that the sisters will be cremated together, providing some solace in knowing they will not be alone. Hailey had recently graduated from high school and was about to start a job at a local daycare center, while Shelby had begun working at a nearby farm.
Describing his daughters as 'simple country girls at heart,' Brian expressed the profound impact of their loss on the family and community. He fondly remembered their kindness, intelligence, and the positive influence they had on everyone they met.
Survived by their parents, a brother, and two stepsisters, the Trumble family is grappling with the immense grief of losing Hailey and Shelby. Brian reflected on cherished memories and the irreplaceable bond shared with his daughters, emphasizing the need for more time with them.
