In a tragic incident, a father from Michigan has passed away after being viciously attacked by three dogs. Harold Phillips was walking home from a bus stop in Detroit when he was assaulted by the animals. The heartbreaking news of his death was shared by his wife, Shauntaye Phillips, on their GoFundMe page. The page was initially set up to raise funds for Harold's medical expenses following the attack.

Shauntaye expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community, stating, 'I appreciate every prayer, donation, and message. Thank you all for the love and care you've shown my husband.' However, she also revealed the devastating reality that Harold's injuries were severe. His right arm had to be amputated due to the extensive damage caused by the dogs.

Describing the horrific incident, Shauntaye shared that the dogs had bitten a significant portion of Harold's arm, including his artery, resulting in substantial blood loss. He required dialysis and ongoing transfusions. Unfortunately, Harold's condition continued to deteriorate, and his organs began shutting down. The family received overwhelming support, with donations totaling $66,156 towards their $100,000 GoFundMe goal.

Meanwhile, the owner of the dogs, Roy Goodman, expressed deep remorse and offered his apologies to the Phillips family. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Goodman acknowledged, 'Nothing I can do can make this right, but if there's anything I can do, I will.' It has come to light that the dogs had been previously involved in three other biting incidents, one reportedly involving a child.

Goodman shared that one of the dogs should have been euthanized following the incident with the child. On the day of the attack, he noticed that his dogs were loose and went searching for them. It was during his search that he heard Harold's cries for help and immediately called the police.

Following the tragedy, the three dogs responsible for the attack were euthanized. Additionally, Goodman received a fine of $5,000. However, it remains unclear whether he will face further charges related to the incident. In response to the traumatic incident, the Phillips family has filed a lawsuit against the dog owner, seeking justice for the loss of Harold's life and the devastating impact on their family.

This heartbreaking incident underscores the importance of responsible pet ownership and vigilance when caring for animals that could pose a threat to others. As the Phillips family mourns the loss of their beloved husband and father, communities all over are reminded of the significance of taking measures to prevent such tragic events from occurring in the future.
