Pensioner, 82, convicted of not paying £35 in car tax when wife died

A pensioner in sheltered housing has been convicted over £35 of unpaid car tax after his wife died, in the latest shocking case to emerge from Britain’s fast-track justice system.

The 82-year-old was penalised after the DVLA spotted in September last year that the bill had not been paid on his Ford B-Max.
