Fashion Sakala in Rangers stitch up over 'other mob' comment but pundit confident of Celtic players verdict

Fashion Sakala was put up to his Rangers 'other mob' comments in his opinion - but Mark Wilson sees only fun and games in the forward's description of Celtic.

The Zambian sparked a talking point by making the two-word reference about the Premiership champions, Rangers' bitter rivals and opponents in Viaplay Cup final duty this Sunday. Whether or not it was respectful ahead of the big day has been talked about but former defender Wilson doesn't see an issue.

Instead, he reckons that if the shoe was on the other foot, Celtic fans would be lapping it up. However, there's more than meets eye, as Wilson also believes an Ibrox teammate put Sakala up to the press conference task. The former Parkhead man told Superscoreboard: "I will be honest, I laughed at that, as I was thinking that Sakala is a 25-year-old from Zambia. Somebody has obviously told him to say that, it might have been someone in the dressing room for a laugh.

"I think he is saying it tongue in cheek - why would it be disrespectful in any way? It is light-hearted humour and do you think Celtic players will be in the dressing room thinking 'I'm so fired up, he called us the other mob?'

"Come on, get real, what are we getting to if people take offence to that? See if the shoe is on the other foot, and a Celtic player has come in from another country and said that, all the Celtic fans would be selling t-shirts with 'Kyogo, the other mob' on it.

"That is just the way it is. Take it is for what is it, a bit of tongue in cheek."
