Fashion Sakala lit the blue touch paper ahead of Sunday’s Viaplay Cup final showdown by describing Celtic as “THE OTHER MOB”.
The Zambian star was speaking at the players’ press conference ahead of the Hampden clash for the first piece of silverware of the domestic season. Sakala played a key role in the Old Firm Ne’erday derby draw at Ibrox and is ready to go again against the Hoops.
Micheal Beale created headlines when he was accused of referring to Celtic as “them” earlier in the season but hit back, claiming it was taken out of context. Now Rangers star Sakala’s term for their rivals is sure to cause a storm. He said: "Obviously, I know how important the game is when you play the other mob. I believe it is all about the badge, and I don't really think about my individual performance, the most important thing is about the win for the fans, and the club and the good performance from the players.
"I think it's a very important game for the club and the fans, and we are going to give everything to fight for the win and to get the trophy. The impact I brought into the last game was good for the squad but I'm looking for more great performances.”
