Luxury fashion retailer CRICKET will still move to new premises this year, the ECHO understands.
It was announced last year the Liverpool retailer, which has been a favourite shopping destination in the city for over three decades, was to move to the former Flannels' unit on Peter's Lane. It was first reported in November last year that the 21,000 sq ft shop would be used by the retailer to showcase a new store design.
The unit, near Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols, has remained empty since Flannels moved to its current location at the Owen Owen Building in 2022. The unit, at the head of Peter's Lane, will allow the high-end store to feature an extensive range of designer menswear, womenswear and children's collections.

The ECHO understands the extra space, which is across three floors, will allow the store to showcase established luxury brands including Balenciaga, Saint Laurent and Valentino, as well as up-and-coming designers. Liverpool ONE said the expected store design would allow for a "more modern, luxurious and immersive space".
The opening of the new store was set for early 2023. However, pictures taken by the ECHO today showed the unit is still empty with Liverpool ONE advertising in the windows. The ECHO understands CRICKET will still move into the unit.
Speaking last year, Iain Finlayson, estate director at Liverpool ONE, said: "CRICKET is the perfect addition to Liverpool ONE. The brand has a huge following nationally as well as across the north west, and will appeal to visitors with its unique selection of curated and exclusive fashion collections.
"It’s our pleasure to play a key part in the ongoing success of a fantastic local brand and we’re thrilled to be welcoming CRICKET, introducing its new store design, to Liverpool ONE next year."
