It can be tricky buying clothes that fit perfectly, sometimes clothing is never true to size.
If you have been in a Zara shop, you may have noticed the symbols on their clothing labels, and have been left wondering what do the symbols actually mean?
Fashion expert and presenter Trinny Woodall has debunked a recent viral Zara hack that left fashion fans thinking that the shapes on Spanish brand Zara’s clothing were actually size-guides.

Founder and CEO of the Trinny London brand, a £180 million beauty and fashion empire, Trinny explains what the secret codes on Zara’s clothing collections really mean, and how you can tell them apart.
In the TikTok video, the star shows the truth about fashion giant Zara and their labelling system.
Trinny is passionate about fashion, and breaks down the symbols on clothing tags from Zara’s collections.

She has spent her career travelling around the world and appearing on Oprah carrying out makeovers, and dishing out fashion advice on tv shows.
Zara collections are arranged by circles, triangles and squares.
In fact, it's more of a handy guide for employees to know where to stock items in store.
If a tag has a circle on it, it means the item belongs to the Zara Women collection, if it has a square it means the Zara basic range, and if the triangle appears on the tag, it means it’s from the Zara TRF collection.
Trinny said: “The circle means it’s Zara woman, the square means its Zara basic, and the triangle means it’s the TRF collection.”
She adds: “Just to clarify because everyone on TikTok and Instagram says it’s to do with sizing, but that is bullshit.”
Some workers took the comment section to shed some light on the symbols.
In response to the revelation, one former employee said: “Thank you, I have explained this so many times in TikTok. Worked for them for 6 years.”
While another confirmed the symbols have nothing to do with sizing, and said: "Worked at Zara, the symbols mean what line their from woman’s basics, trafaluc and such."
Back in November, in line with what Trinny said, a spokesperson also told the Mirror UK that the different symbols actually do represent the different areas of the store where the clothes belong, whether it's the Woman, Basic or TRF section.
It turns out it’s not an official hack after all, but rather a way for employees to know what product belongs to what range.
