NOIDA: The Noida Authority this week replied to the objections raised by farmhouse owners on its demolition drive, saying that the constructions are illegal and need to be removed within a week – after which officials will take further action.
The authority, in its notice dated July 27, rebutted the objections and also threatened to recover the cost of demolition if the farmhouse owners did not remove the structures in and around Sector 135 on their own. The owners, who had approached the Allahabad high court over the matter last month, told TOI on Friday that they will approach the court once again. They had sought relief from HC after the Authority, in its order issued on June 8, said that any construction on the Yamuna and Hindon floodplains would be demolished. Subsequently, the HC directed the petitioners on June 14 to file their objections with the Authority, which was tasked to take a decision on these soon. About 400 owners filed their objections.
