Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) 2026 winner Eddy Fry has officially hard-launched her new man after officially confirming her split from Farmer Alex Thompson-Welch at the season’s reunion.
In what was teased to be another FWAW success story, Eddy and Alex — who left the season together before the official finale — unfortunately broke up. But just like all reality TV shows, the split was rumoured waaaay before the pair confirmed the relationship’s demise on the reunion.
However, alongside the split, rumours began to circulate that Eddy had officially moved on and found love with another man.
Now, the Brisbane-based lawyer has come through, confirming that she’s in a relationship with Aussie-based Frenchman Matthis.
“From colon preps to watching me date another bloke on TV, my guy has well and truly been through it. Whiskey & I love you bug,” Eddy wrote, referring to Farmer Alex as “another bloke”.

According to New Idea, who first reported on Eddy’s new boyfriend back in July, insiders claimed the pair began dating at the start of the year, and were introduced through mutual friends.
So far, Alex has not responded to Eddy’s news or revealed whether or not he has also found love post-reality TV.
Why did Farmer Alex and Eddy break up?
During the reunion, the mushroom and beef farmer claimed everything changed after the “cameras stopped rolling”, and that Eddy “recoiled” and “pulled back” from their relationship.
“It was a 10-minute video chat when she was down in regional Victoria, and I haven’t really spoken to her since,” Alex said during the reunion episode, explaining how the break-up happened.
When Eddy finally joined Alex on the reunion couch, she explained that they had “different relationship styles” and that their differences — including their thoughts about religion and politics — were just too much.
While FWAW has a great success rate, this year’s batch was unfortunately unlucky, with only one couple — Farmer Zac Kupier and Maya Bini — still together after the reunion.
