It’s without a doubt that Miranda has brought the drama in this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW). And after last night’s shebang, a previous winner has chucked in her Akubra on the behaviour that’s going down in the sticks.

From walk outs to many tears, this year’s season of FWAW 2026 has officially kicked off and there’s been quite a shift in the air.
What is usually a wholesome show — after all, it’s got the success rate of 22 couples and multiple children — this year’s season has been slammed for taking the drama route, especially with the presence of Miranda, who is vying for the heart of footy-playing country hunk of spunk Farmer Zac.
To give you a quick rundown, since getting on the farm, Miranda was keen on getting Jessica out after she voiced her struggles being in an environment like FWAW. But before she could tell Zac, Jessica ended up walking out on Zac.
Then, right after that dramatic self-elimination, Miranda went on to call Maya “desperate” because she pulled Zac for a chat to check in on him. Grace then told Maya what Miranda had set while Miranda and Zac were on a solo date to a flower farm.
Maya then spilled the beans to Zac’s twin, Isobel, who relayed the information back to Miranda, which resulted in a MAFS-like Dinner Party confrontation.
Since then, fans of the show have slammed, with one person in a FWAW Facebook group describing the shift in the atmosphere as a “shame”.
“Such a shame this show has changed so much. It started as a really good, genuine feel good show that was wholesome, realistic and enjoyable. The success rate was good. Now it is heading into bad territory,” one person wrote.
Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 Winner Keeley Rankin responds to Miranda’s behaviour.
Keeley Rankin, who found love on FWAW 2025 with Farmer Corey, has responded to how much the show has changed, admitting that Miranda’s behaviour can “be quite uncomfortable” as a former participant.
“We are watching a lot of the ladies be quite uncomfortable with what Miranda is saying and how she’s behaving,” she told Woman’s Day before speculating that the arguments could be a result of “personality clashes”.
“I definitely think a lot of this behaviour is being driven by personality clashes,” she added.
“I do think that no matter what you do, you cannot prepare yourself to make friends with people and then inevitably watch them date the person that you like.”
Prior the show’s premiere, Miranda said she was “okay” with getting the villain edit on FWAW.
“I was definitely aware that confidence can sometimes be misunderstood, especially when condensed into a TV show where people only see small parts of who you are… I’d rather be confident in who I am than pretend to be someone else,” she told Chattr.
“I think I’m just straight up and direct, and there’s nothing wrong with that, so if I get the villain edit, that’s okay, but anyone who knows me, knows what I’m actually like.”
As much as fans complain about how much FWAW has ‘changed’, reality TV will always have some kind of ‘villain’ in it. Just like how Flavour of Love had Tiffany ‘New York’ Pollard and MAFS had Gia Fleur.
Unfortunately, the farm is gonna have to get one to… and we will be sat for the drama.
