- Nigel Farage will propose prohibiting anyone from being granted asylum in the UK for five years if Reform UK wins power.
- Under the plans, set to be announced on Monday, all active asylum applications would be declared void, whilst legal refugee routes, tribunals, and resettlement schemes would be scrapped.
- Rather than hearing about 90,000 pending appeals, a Reform government would deport claimants and review cases granted asylum over the last five years.
- The party will also propose to use sanctions, including tariffs and airline bans, against countries that refuse to accept deportees.
- Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp criticised the proposals, claiming they largely copy Conservative policies and miss key legal loopholes.
