Far from smooth sailing as Aussies struggle in Spain

The pressure is mounting on Australian sailor Tom Slingsby and his Flying Roos after a hard-fought campaign in Spain tightened the race for a place in next month's $3 million winner-takes-all grand final in Abu Dhabi.

Super Sunday at the DP World Spain Sail Grand Prix in Cadiz delivered mixed fortunes for the Flying Roos, who slipped from first to third in the season standings. 

The three-time champions suffered costly setbacks across the day and now face fierce pressure from home-team rivals Los Gallos as the 2025 SailGP Championship heads into its final event of the season.
