Fantasy owners were predictably upset after Saquon Barkley iced the game by turning down a TD

Saquon Barkley does not care at all about your fantasy team. He made that awfully clear on Sunday.

The New York Giants improved to 5-1 on the season with their 24-20 Week 6 win over the Baltimore Ravens, and Barkley’s resurgence is a huge reason for that surprise start. But he doesn’t even need to be scoring touchdowns to make winning plays.

With 1:24 to go in the game and the Ravens having two timeouts remaining, Barkley took a handoff, spun to the outside and had a clear path to the end zone. But had Barkley walked in for the score, he would have given the Ravens a slim chance at coming back. Knowing the situation, Barkley got the first down and immediately went down.

We’ve seen players mess up that situation in the past and actually cost their teams by scoring — looking at you, Nick Chubb and Todd Gurley. Barkley, though, was able to put the team ahead of individual stats. And for that, his smart play secured a Giants win.

But still, that Saquon Barkley touchdown could have helped A LOT of fantasy teams out there. So, plenty of owners weren’t thrilled with Barkley’s heads-up play.
