Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Justin Jefferson, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.
Let’s look at wide receivers for Week 4.
Start: Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers
Nothing like a revenge game against one of the league’s worst defenses to get the blood flowing. Adam Thielen hasn’t quite had the success he had with rookie quarterback Bryce Young that he had found with Andy Dalton last week, but this matchup gives him the perfect opportunity to build that rapport. This Minnesota defense seemingly cannot stop anyone and will likely have a hard time containing their former Pro Bowl receiver. Fire Thielen up as a sneaky PPR WR2.
Start: Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
We have been robbed of the Jordan Love to Christian Watson connection so far this season thanks to injury, but no longer. Love has been completely unafraid to target receivers down the field, and one of the best deep threats in the league is ready to go at his disposal. Detroit’s pass defense isn’t bad by any means, but this is a game where both teams are going to throw the football, and Watson has a seriously high ceiling. Fire Watson up as a flex option with WR1 potential.
Sit: D.J. Moore, Chicago Bears
Elite players tend to have bounce back games and unfortunately for D.J. Moore, Patrick Surtain II is an elite player. It’s really hard to trust any of the receivers for Chicago, but Moore has been a bright spot to this point. It would be surprising if the Bears chose to air it out this week and not to simply run the ball down Denver’s throat all afternoon. Moore can slide into your lineup again next week, but against an elite corner in a run first game? Not a great option.
Start: Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings
With Jaycee Horn still out in the secondary for the Carolina Panthers they lack the depth necessary to contain all three of these explosive Minnesota receivers. Jordan Addison stands to be the primary benefactor of that lack of depth, and with Carolina likely looking to keep Justin Jefferson in check Addison could slip through the cracks for a big play or two. Addison is a solid FLEX/WR@ start this week, and has big touchdown upside against a struggling Carolina squad.
Sit: Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
Rookie receiver Zay Flowers has certainly been one of the more impressive receivers in the league so far and has brought a reliable weapon to a dangerous Baltimore offense. This week however, Baltimore heads into Cleveland to face a ridiculously good defense with one of the leagues top corners. Denzel Ward will likely be on Flowers like glue for the majority of this game, and it feels like a typical AFC North slug fest with limited passing success. Shy away from Flowers this week, but certainly keep him rostered in redraft.
