You’re waking up on Tuesday reading all that you can about the players that you should be picking up off the waiver wire as you prepare for Week 8 of fantasy football in 2022.
But it’s likely there aren’t as many things written about who you should be dropping to grab those players. That’s what this weekly column — keep ’em or dump ’em! — will hopefully answer for you: Some help in the debate over who you should keep or drop in order to improve your team.
It’s a decent waiver wire week, so let’s dive in to help you with who to keep or drop:

RB Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos
He averaged just 3.0 ypc against the Jets and caught just two passes. Bleh.
Latavius Murray ended up going 8-for-24 yards and a score. Not great either, but the point here is a timeshare has emerged. It’s not great, but Gordon is still a viable RB that you have to hold on to.
VERDICT: Keep him

RB Jeff Wilson Jr., San Francisco 49ers
Worth noting that he had seven carries for 54 yards after the Christian McCaffrey trade. But I’m guessing that McCaffrey isn’t going to get just eight carries a week going forward.
If you have the bench room, Wilson is a high-profile handcuff at this point, especially given McCaffrey’s injury history. If not?
VERDICT: Drop him

WR Curtis Samuel, Washington Commanders
He saw eight targets with Taylor Heinicke under center, which wasn’t bad, and five carries for 26 yards. WR3-level stuff here if it continues, so I say …
VERDICT: Keep him

RB Cam Akers, Los Angeles Rams
I’m hoping an RB-needy team trades for him and he starts getting consistent work.
VERDICT: Keep him (at least through the NFL trade deadline)

WR Robert Woods, Tennessee Titans
Just four targets in two of his last three games, and the yardage is capped because the Titans don’t throw that often, or throw deep. You know what to do.
VERDICT: Drop him

QB Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
It hasn’t been as deep a QB year as we’ve seen in past years. But I still give quarterbacks a short leash, especially one who hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in the past two games.
VERDICT: Drop him

RB Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
We keep hoping he’ll break out … and he just doesn’t.
VERDICT: Drop him
