You’re waking up on Tuesday reading all that you can about the players that you should be picking up off the waiver wire as you prepare for Week 13 of fantasy football in 2022.
But it’s likely there aren’t as many things written about who you should be dropping to grab those players. That’s what this weekly column — keep ’em or dump ’em! — will hopefully answer for you: Some help in the debate over who you should keep or drop in order to improve your team.
It’s an intriguing waiver wire week especially with the fantasy playoffs looming, so let’s dive in to help you with who to keep or drop:
1
WR Kadarius Toney, Kansas City Chiefs
Trying to guess which Chiefs receiver will go off behind Travis Kelce is the roughest. Toney’s injury that kept him out of Week 12 could mean he’s lower in the WR depth chart in Kansas City, but if you have the room on your bench, I’d say keep him for now. There’s a chance he’s still got a big role when he returns.
VERDICT: Keep him
2
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City Chiefs
He’ll return from the injured list perhaps in Week 16. But it’s Isiah Pacheco’s backfield now.
VERDICT: Drop him
3
WR Rondale Moore, Arizona Cardinals
A run that included a trio of high-volume games has ended, especially after he was hurt last week, has a bye this week and now has to contend with the return of Marquise Brown.
VERDICT: Drop him
4
RB Kenyan Drake, Baltimore Ravens
Gus Edwards is back, relegating Drake to backup RB status. However, in a run-heavy offense, Drake is an injury away from big work, so stash him.
VERDICT: Keep him
5
WR Allen Lazard, Green Bay Packers
Christian Watson has taken over as WR1 and Aaron Rodgers might be out? But I’d say bench him and see what happens with Jordan Love at QB, assuming the backup starts. At least for one week!
VERDICT: Keep him
6
Backup QBs (in 1QB leagues!)
If you’re a playoff contender, you want your bench to be filled with as many running backs as you can fit and the occasional receiver. That means dropping a low-upside backup QB — Marcus Mariota, Daniel Joens, Trevor Lawrence, and so on — to make room.
If you lose your starting quarterback in your league, you’ll need to stream one anyway!
VERDICT: Drop them
