Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Justin Jefferson, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.
Let’s look at receivers for Week 5.
Start: DJ Moore, Chicago Bears
D.J. Moore has been hot and cold in his time with the Chicago Bears through no fault of his own. Moore is the Bears most consistent offensive playmakers and is up this week against yet another vulnerable secondary. The deeps shots from Justin Fields will come and they are going straight to D.J. Moore. Fire up Moore as a high ceiling WR2 this week.
Start: Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
It almost seems blasphemous to have to mention Garrett Wilson in the start section given how good he is, but with Zach Wilson under center his success has ceiling is greatly lowered. This week however he gets the most vulnerable defense in the league in the Denver Broncos, and the New York Jets are going to do everything in their power to make sure the ball gets into the hands of number seventeen. Wilson is a potential WR1 this week, get him in your lineup.
Sit: Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
As Derek Carr goes as does Chris Olave, and with Carr dealing with an injury that is limiting his play, Olave’s numbers are going to take a dip. It doesn’t help that Olave gets to go one on one with the league’s most productive rookie corner in Christian Watson who has shut down receivers to this point. It will be hard to move Olave to the bench given how talented he is, but if you can find better options give them a go.
Start: Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
We finally saw a healthy Christian Watson last week against the Detroit Lions, and though he was relatively quiet in the targets department he was still productive. Watson is one of the best deep ball threats in the league, and this week against the Las Vegas Raiders, Jordan Love should be taking plenty of deep shots down the field. Watson is a WR3 with a tremendous ceiling, get him in your lineup.
Sit: Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
Zay Flowers has looked very impressive during his rookie season and is clearly the best receiver on Baltimore’s roster. This week however he will see an equally impressive rookie in Joey Porter Jr. who has shut down just about everyone across from him. This also feels very much like a game where the ground games and defense will decide the outcome. Zay Flowers becomes a touchdown dependent WR3 so find someone else if you can.
