The New York Giants (1-2) will host the Seattle Seahawks (2-1) on Monday Night Football in Week 4 in a matchup of NFC playoff teams from last season.
There’s a number of fantasy picks to choose from in this game. Here are four.
Seattle defense
Until the Giants can prove they are an NFL-quality offense that can protect the quarterback, protect the football and score enough points to win games, they cannot be taken seriously and fantasy players should play whatever defense they are facing that week.
The Seahawks are +2 in turnover ratio and have the third-best rushing defense in the league this year. If the Giants are without Saquon Barkley again, and it looks like they will be, this is what we would call a ‘plus’ matchup for Seattle.
Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones is a ‘fade’ if he has to go up against a league power such as Dallas, Philadelphia, San Francisco et al.
But is Seattle a league power? No. They are ‘playoff-caliber’ at best if everything breaks right for them. That means Jones should be considered here.
The Seahawks are ranked 27th out of 32 teams against quarterbacks over the first three games. Jones, when given time and allowed to throw deep, has shown some prowess. If the Giants go for broke in this game, he could pop.
Kenneth Walker Jr.
Kenneth Walker Jr. entered the season as part of possible committee with rookie Zach Charbonnet and veteran DeeJay Dallas. That is becoming less of thing as the season unfolds.
Walker is becoming the back of choice and has a plus matchup of his own this week against a porous Giants’ run defense. The Giants are 27th when it comes to defending running backs in fantasy this year.
Giants wide receivers
The Seahawks are dead last when it comes to defending wide receivers in fantasy this season. That’s good news for the Giants but bad news for fantasy owners.
The Giants have a slew of wideouts but no one has emerged as a favorite of Jones. Tight end Darren Waller leads the team with 20 targets and Barkley — despite missing last week’s game — is fourth with 11.
As for wide receivers, Darius Slayton (17) and Parris Campbell (16) have been targeted the most but Isaiah Hodgins, Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt could find their way into the game plan very quickly this week.
