The 2022/23 Premier League season is set to kick off this week, and it's also the return of this season's Fantasy Premier League (FPL).
This year's edition of Fantasy Premier League opened up a few weeks ago, so managers have been able to draft together their FPL teams for Gameweek 1, but with new signings, players in new positions and exciting youth prospects, the choices for your first starting XI are never easy.
With all 20 Premier League sides getting their teams ready for the new campaign through a handful of pre-season friendlies, a few players have picked up some knocks and look set to miss the start of the FPL season. Liverpool striker Diogo Jota will be absent after a reoccurring hamstring injury, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is still suffering from an injury picked up at the end of last season, and Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison is suspended.
