You’ve got your fantasy football lineup all but set for the week, with a few tweaks to be made here and there as Sunday’s slate of games is ready to kick off.
But you’re trying to optimize your lineup to make sure you get the most points. And that’s why you have to make sure your D/ST position has the best possible squad to win you the week.
That’s what these rankings will help with: A look at the elite, solid, and streamable options that could win you some virtual games in your league.
Let’s break down the Week 3 D/ST tiers:
1
Elite
1. New Orleans Saints (at Panthers)
2. Buffalo Bills (at Dolphins)
3. Dallas Cowboys (at Giants)
4. Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Jaguars)
5. Cincinnati Bengals (at Jets)
6. Houston Texans (at Bears)
Kind of a weird bunch at the top here. The Texans (!) are a top D thanks to facing a terrible Bears offense. The Bills are elite no matter who they face but maybe you’re worried Tua carries over last week’s fireworks to this week. But generally, a good group to have in Week 3.
2
Solid
6. Los Angeles Rams (at Cardinals)
7. Atlanta Falcons (at Seahawks)
8. San Francisco 49ers (at Broncos)
9. Baltimore Ravens (at Patriots)
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. Packers)
A group with flaws: The Falcons’ D isn’t great, but you hope for Geno Smith picks. The Rams, Niners and Bucs all have good defenses but concerns about their matchups. And the Ravens? Mac Jones is not Tua Tagovailoa.
3
Streaming options
11. Carolina Panthers (vs. Saints)
12. Chicago Bears (vs. Texans)
13. New York Giants (vs. Cowboys)
14. Green Bay Packers (at Buccaneers)
15. Seattle Seahawks (vs. Falcons)
All about the matchups, including some missing WRs (sorry, Bucs).
4
Throw a dart if you're desperate
Denver Broncos (vs. 49ers)
Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Colts)
Maybe Jimmy G stinks? Maybe Matt Ryan struggles?
