Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.
Here's your 2022 preview of the Detroit Lions, the 22nd of 32 team profiles during draft season:
— 2022 Fantasy MVP: D'Andre Swift, RB
Swift (ADP: 11) was on pace for 1,658 total yards, 90 receptions and 10 touchdowns before suffering an AC joint sprain in Week 12 last season. This should be the baseline for our expectations if he can remain healthy.
— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: TJ Hockenson, TE
Many expected last season to be Hockenson's (ADP: 72) breakout campaign. A thumb injury cut it short. However, through 13 weeks, he was TE6 in standard formats (TE3 in PPR), and now he's being drafted as a TE7, almost two full rounds after the top-five at the position are off the board. Hockenson has established a valuable floor, and at 25 years old, a true breakout season is still on the table.
— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR
I was a big advocate for drafting St. Brown (ADP: 55) as a sleeper in his rookie season last year and he paid dividends thanks to a spectacular finish. In the final six games of 2021, only Cooper Kupp outperformed him in fantasy. I'm afraid the pendulum has swung too far the other way with expectations, mostly because I don't trust Jared Goff to orchestrate this offense consistently. I'd prefer him as a WR3, but it's almost certain someone will draft him to be a WR2.
— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Jameson Williams, WR
Detroit placed Williams (ADP: 175) on the reserve/NFI list to begin the season. The designation means he'll miss at least the first four weeks. He has sprinter speed and is a threat to score anytime the ball is in his hands — he set an Alabama single-season record and led the FBS with four touchdowns of 70-plus yards in 2021. Williams could be a difference maker when he returns. He's a late-round lottery ticket worth grabbing at the end of your draft.
