Love Actually has been a much loved Christmas romcom hit since its release 20 years ago now, the Mirror reports. However, beady eyed fans on social media have spotted a mistake in one particular famous scene that they now claim has 'ruined' the entire movie for them.
The hit movie starring big names such as Hugh Grant, Dame Emma Thompson and Keira Knightley is watched by millions across the world every year. But fans have spotted a blunder in one of the most tear jerking scenes of the entire movie - when Emma Thompson's character, Karen discovers her husband, Harry played by the late Alan Rickman is cheating on her.
The scene shows Karen breaking down in tears in her bedroom after she finds a gift her husband has bought for another woman. She braves the heartbreak alone in the room before quickly rearranging the bed and composing herself to go and re join the family downstairs.
However, viewers have pointed out one major mistake which has now sparked some social media backlash - there are no pillows on the bed. One commented: "Why doesn't she have any pillows?"
Another remarked: "There's no pillows on the bed in the scene where she cries after not getting the necklace." A third user said: "Just noticed Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman have no pillows on their bed in Love Actually and quite frankly the whole film is ruined for me."
Another joked: "Whaaaat?? No wonder they're a miserable couple, they've not slept for 20 years!" But others argued that the pillows were hidden under the duvet as someone claimed: "They are there!!!! Under the duvet!"
However, one user who appeared to not be a fan of the movie which is loved by millions said: "The lack of pillows is the least of that film's problems." Meanwhile some of the iconic cast got back together to create a Love Actually TV special to mark the 20-year anniversary of the festive film.
Five of the original cast members including Thomas Brodie-Sangster, 32 and Olivia Olson, 30 who were child stars in the film sat down with Diane Sawyer to chat about the 2003 film and reveal some behind the scene gossip. Lead actor, Hugh Grant who plays the prime minister in the film described his iconic dancing scene in Downing to Street to be the 'most excruciating thing ever committed to celluloid' during the special.
He went on to say: ''I watched it for the first time this past Christmas since the premiere. And I'd forgotten how good it was.''
Sadly for British Love Actually fans there's no date planned for when The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later will air in the UK.
