Fans praise Mastermind contestant for ‘most niche special subject’

  • Policy researcher Emily Medhurst has impressed Mastermind viewers by choosing Transport for London moquette as her specialist subject.
  • Answering questions about famous moquette designers, iconic patterns and Tube lines featuring specific designs, Medhurst correctly answered eight questions in two minutes, taking only one pass and getting just three questions wrong.
  • In a clip shared by the BBC after the episode, fans praised Medhurst for choosing what they dubbed the “most niche special subject in Mastermind history”.
  • Meanwhile, Transport for London commented: “Most iconic specialist subject ever.”
  • Medhurst finished the episode with 16 points, however customer service advisor Donald Campbell, who chose the films of Paul Newman as his subject, won the contest.
