New Tennessee Titans general manager, Ran Carthon, continued his active Tuesday after he reached an agreement with another familiar face from his San Francisco 49ers days.
The Titans and Daniel Brunskill reportedly agreed to a two-year deal that will bring the versatile offensive lineman to Tennessee. The financial terms were not disclosed, though.
Brunskill is coming off a season where he only allowed one quarterback hit and no sacks over 290 pass blocking snaps, mostly as a backup. He was a full-time starter with the Niners in 2020 and 2021, and has played at each position along the offensive line.
This is another underrated move that won’t steal the headlines by any means, but all you have to do is take one peek at the fanbase that’s losing these players to see how impactful they truly were.
As usual, this article includes tweets from Titans fans and media alike. However, I’ve also included several tweets from 49ers fans and media members in order to get an idea of how they feel about losing Brunskill.
Without further ado, let’s take a peek at some of the reactions following the Titans’ latest reported acquisition.

Daniel Brunskill is arguably the most underrated 49ers player during the Kyle Shanahan era in San Francisco
Brunskill started games at all five positions on the offensive line during his time with the 49ers
An extremely versatile player who played a major role in their success

Surprised by this one. Assumed the 49ers would find a way to keep him around given his value as a versatile backup. https://t.co/saM2Ll0nO7

Aaron Donald will be sad to hear his dad got a new job out of state. https://t.co/FvURyAM0XS

#49ers lose versatile OL. Rough day – Lost Brunskill, Moseley, Al-Shaair. Not overly concerned about Ebukam, especially at $9M per Colts gave him. https://t.co/xmdKky9fhT

Another important loss for the Niners. D Daniel Brunskill had versatility across the OL and fared well against Aaron Donald on multiple occasions https://t.co/bM8wHKUCjn

What the #Titans are saying early in free agency is that they liked the #49ers and #Eagles backups on the OL better than they liked most of their starters in 2022.

New #Titans OL Daniel Brunskill is an interesting player. Converted from TE to T during his final year at San Diego St. then signed as a UDFA in Atlanta. Spent two seasons on the practice squad before playing in the AAF. Then catches on in SF where he ends up becoming a starter.

Just turned 29 and is coming off his highest graded season of his career according to PFF. Seemed to be highly valued by San Francisco.
Figure worst case scenario is he’s a high end utility backup. Best case he’s an average-ish starting guard.
