The Tennessee Titans made their second selection of an offensive lineman in the 2023 NFL draft when they picked Maryland offensive tackle, Jaelyn Duncan, who follows Tennessee’s first-round pick of Peter Skoronski.
While, again, we would have preferred a wide receiver in this spot, I’m not going to harp on that any longer because it just isn’t happening. Instead, I’m going to take this pick at face value and go from there.
Duncan is a solid selection for Tennessee, as he offers another backup option at multiple spots, especially at tackle where the Titans were a bit shaky.
And, perhaps he develops into a starter down the line, but he’s going to need a lot of work before that ever happens.
The 6-foot-6, 306-pound lineman was someone the Titans met with in the pre-draft process, so he was already on their radar.
Here’s a look at how fans and media reacted to the Titans passing on a wide receiver yet again in favor of more offensive line help.
Jaelyn Duncan pick says the #Titans damn sure aren't going to let a Dennis Daley situation happen to them again.
But the Eagles game where Burks got hurt and they played with Robert Woods, NWI and CJ Board as the receivers, they will allow for something like that.

Honestly, a WR at this point is a practice-squad level guy. Still, it's past time to replace Mason Kinsey on the practice squad. And Kinsey might be on the roster right now. #Titans

Jamarco Jones is in trouble! #Titans

The 6-6, 306-pound Jaelyn Duncan is a versatile, athletic guy, and some scouting reports suggest he may move to guard.
Stat drawbacks: Combined 20 penalties over past two seasons. Also allowed 7 sacks, 4 QB hits and 17 QB hurries in 477 pass-block snaps last season.— John Glennon (@glennonsports) April 29, 2023

That’s all we will do. Run and not pass.

Uh.. so Round 7 is gonna be either WR or K right?!

Hope he knows he's lining up as a WR.

I’m content with this pick, the O-line needs depth. But Boutte going to the Pats right after our pick stings! Ouch! 🤕

I'm glad to have him, but this is absolutely a 'screw what the fans want' pick.

Jaelyn Duncan:
– great movement skills/flexibility
– light on his feet, can slide/mirror inside counters
– good reach blocker
– struggled vs best competition
– top heavy, plays with poor leverage
– below average play strength
– hand placement is a mess, late with his punch pic.twitter.com/c0Pe64wkFQ— James Foster (@NoFlagsFilm) April 29, 2023
7 sacks, 17 hurries, 14 pressures given up this season by Jaelyn Duncan, #Titans new OL
